McMaster University Department of Research and International Affairs

"Bridging the gap between research and commercialization is critical if we want to capture the true economic, social and health benefits of our work.  It’s a key priority for McMaster and for CSii.  The Centre has a proven track record of creating a culture of innovation, where leading scientists, engineers, and medical experts work together to tackle emerging issues in medical robotics and to advance the field of minimally invasive surgery."

Rob Baker
Vice-President, Research, McMaster University

McMaster’s Office of the Vice-President, Research, is responsible for all research activities within the University and for the aggressive pursuit of new partnerships - including technology transfer and economic development opportunities - locally, nationally and internationally.  Its mandate is to capitalize on the significant research strengths across its six faculties – business, engineering, health sciences, humanities, science, and social sciences.  In 2016, McMaster’s researchers brought in some $325 million in sponsored research income, ranking the University among the country’s most research intensive.
