Economic and Social Benefits To Canada

Improving quality and access to health care for all Canadians through development and commercialization of novel robotic devices has been the primary vision for establishment and commercial operations for the CSii.  The first robotic system soon to be released to the market will aim to markedly improve the screening and management of breast cancer in high-risk women.

By making the diagnosis and treatment more precise and less invasive, and through deskilling the interventional procedure, patients will benefit from a new “see and treat” paradigm. The health system will benefit by offering decreased wait times, a higher quality of patient care pathway and improved outcomes.Furthermore, combining the impact of teleoperability (providing easier access to patients living in remote areas) and improved utilization of available resources through alteration in site of care and efficiencies in delivery of care, CSii’s products aim to enhance the impact of each health care dollar spent.
